((January 19th? Kevin and Jakkie.. ;w;))
It'd been a few days since she'd seen the boy from the train station. Not too long, but it felt longer. Felt like years... Of course, she was extremely exhausted, and it only showed by how dark her eyes currently were. At first, she was unsure about coming. Heck, she was still unsure. But Jakkie wasn't coming for the school, or for an enlightening experience. She had one thing on her mind.
Finding Kevin.
So now? She was roaming the hallways, serious eyes, and a passive face. Occasionally she stopped to give an annoyed glare at some loud passing students who were younger than her, as they pushed passed. Unaware of who she was, and uncaring.
She shook her head and continued on. This was going to be grating, she assumed that already. But trying to look on the bright side, she imagined she might actually get some rest out of this little stay. Jakkie had spent every night since her arrival in the city pretending she was a floozy. Tricking drunk men at the bar and idiots on the streets that she was going to go home with them and show them a good time or whatever.
Instead, they got her mutant tongue bathed in a paralyzing saliva lodged down their throat, and they were out for the night. And was it degrading? Yes. Did she feel violated? Absolutely. Because every man she stumbled upon who would bring her home, she had to pretend she was interested in and put up this act.
One had managed to get her pants half-way off. It'd shaken her up a bit, and she didn't let that happen again. Since that night though she'd felt an alarming amount of insecurity, less sure of her abilities to take care of herself.
So now she was here. Looking for another way out. Looking for Kevin.

"...Jakkie?"
Kevin adjusted the one strap of the backpack full of books he was carrying on his shoulder as he stared forward. The girl from the subway. His eyebrows raised, eyes flashing open in surprise. She'd actually come to the institute? She was actually looking for him?
Feet shifted on the floor as the youth moved through the crowd to approach her. Jakkie would find Kevin dressed in his normal 'I don't give a shit' school attire which consisted of a pair of grey-blue jeans which looked worn and frayed, a long sleeved maroon shirt and a black t-shirt over that. In thin cryptic whit letters it read 'normal people scare me.' His trademark black gloves kept his fingers free from the public as he pushed past a few kids.
Finally he stood in front of her. "Hey," he said, "So, come to visit? Or did you decide to join us in this madness?"

She heard her name, turning gaze sharply to the location in which it had come from. She exhaled, and let her shoulders drop as she relaxed, visibly becoming more comfortable. Her fingers fidgeted with the strap of her backpack over her shoulder, as she looked up at him once he'd approached, and brushed some hair from her red eyes.
At first she nodded to his question, trying to find the right words. Actually be asked, she didn't know how to answer. She figured, 'Hey, can you touch me so I can die?' wasn't going to go over well. She wasn't sure how it was ever going to go over well, but she lived in desperation of that hope.
"I dunno..." she admitted truthfully, now shaking her head. She seemed a mess, in how tired she looked. "I just- I'm really tired." she admitted, and muttered a "Sorry." as she looked to the ground. She was frustrated with herself. She'd come with a plan in mind, and now she could hardly even explain why she had come, couldn't even think up a lie good enough to tell him.

He tilted his head slightly. Reflexes caused him to lift his hand to place it on her shoulder but he paused in mid air. "Sorry," he muttered, "Sometimes I forget." He looked about and shrugged. She'd come here to see him. That was flattering enough. He nodded back and heard her whisper the apology.
"It's cool," he breathed, tightening his grip on the strap of his backpack, "Here, you can go take a rest in my room, nobody'll bother you there." He grinned sheepishly. "That sounded mildly creepy didn't it? I promise you're fine though. You're looking at the only loser in the school without a roommate. Y'know because of the whole..."
He rolled his eyes. "Sorry. Anyway. Uh, just, come with me."

Jakkie couldn't help the tug of a smile that took her lips. It was small, but a genuine smile at that. She couldn't remember the last time she had felt a real emotion close to something pleasant. She'd often only smiled as an act, seeing as a tool instead of an emotion.
But she looked up to him, watching his every move carefully. Every shuffle, eye-roll, shrug, and the way his hand stopped mid-air before touching her. She found him endearing, as if he were unintentionally charming her. Something she wasn't used to at all.
Don't screw this up Jakkie.
"It's not creepy..." she assured him, and then moved to make physical contact. She was safe to touch his clothes, she was sure. So she reached under his arm, and tucked her hand just on the inside of his elbow. As if he were lazily escorting her.
"I spent how many nights in the city..." she began, and shook her head with an amused grin, "Nothing you do could possibly top them..." and she shifted her tired looking red eyes to look up at him. Jakkie was making it sound much lighter than it had been.

Kevin was pleased when the smile graced her lips but froze, stiffened when she placed her arm in his. He'd almost stopped short as well. Didn't she know? What was she doing? Was she insane? He didn't struggle but did look warily out of the corner of his green eyes, looking back towards her. A few students stopped and stared. Jakkie would probably hear the same whispers he did.
"What's she doing...?" "Doesn't she know..." "...he killed someone?" "If she touches him..." "She'll..."
Kevin winced and pulled away, eyes shutting tight, cheeks hot with embarrassment. Such a welcoming community and still he was ridiculed. He was a freak among freaks and he knew it. He rubbed the bridge of his nose and started forward, moving towards the wing of the boys' dorm. She was tired. He had to get out of the hallways. Away from those judging eyes.

She didn't resist when he pulled his arm from her grip. It surprised her that it'd left an odd tightness in her chest, but otherwise she ignored it, putting her hands in the pockets of her hoody and trailing to his side, just a step behind him.
To the whispers and murmured that had failed as far as discreteness was concerned, she ignored for the most part. However, she did unleash a pretty feral hiss past her sharp teeth to one boy who had been gawking fairly obnoxiously. He hurried along once frightened, and then she turned her gaze back to the back of Kevin's head.
"If I upset you," she stopped to swallow, after she'd found it somewhat difficult to speak, "I can still leave." she suggested. And then considered her own words. She probably would just leave if he'd asked her to, too. It clearly disturbed him, her lack of fear of his power. Maybe she should have been more leery, in all rights. But Jakkie had grown a disregard for her own life, while mastering the ability to look out for it as well.
"I would go." she added in an attempted indifferent voice, and shrugging before looking away to stare at the floor.

"NO! That's not it at all."
Kevin froze, turning back fully towards the girl. She sounded hurt, at least from his interpretation. He shook his head. "It's not you," he murmured, "It's them. To them I'm just a killer. It's why I...don't really have any friends." He rubbed the back of his head nervously. "I'd actually prefer it if you didn't leave. I'm not quite used to people...like...not caring about my powers. Or about me...y'know...killing..." He shut his eyes tight to choke back sadness, clearing his throat.
"Please stay?" He asked, sounding a tad more whimpering than he'd wanted, "My room's this way. You can take a rest there."

She stopped abruptly, before she actually walked into him. He'd surprised her, with his sudden outburst, and doing exactly the opposite of what she'd initially thought he would do. She watched his mouth closely, occasionally flickering her gaze up to meet his eyes as he spoke. The way he talked about friends struck her, as if he assumed she'd ever had any friends of her own. The concept was very foreign to her. This whole 'visit' was foreign to her.
And then he asked her to stay. Her brow tightened, and she found herself frowning, chest rising and falling as something stirred. He really was asking her to stay... Without words at first she simply nodded, slowly.
"I'll stay..." she mumbled, shrugging with one shoulder. She'd tried for a disinterested tone, but instead it had come out a little softer, and her eyes involuntarily glanced down. She spread her arms out lazily, before letting them fall back to her side.
"Lead the way." she invited, and then inhaled slowly.

"Okay."
Kevin stayed silent as he passed the other students in the hall. He stayed silent as they walked before turning and looking at her. She did look scruffy, not that he minded but he didn't like to see anyone looking uncomfortable. He smirked embarrassed, turning away so she wouldn't see him blush.
"I don't know where you've been staying," he remarked, "And I hope you don't get offended but I don't share a bathroom either so if you need to...I mean I wasn't sure if you found a place to stay so..." He shut his mouth.
"I really need to stop talking."

Jakkie bit her lip and snorted, grinning up at him with a look of mocking skepticism. It made him seem naive in a way, the way he danced around talking about her having a shower. But Jakkie didn't just 'look' scruffy because of her past couple of days. She was a scruffy girl, and a shower sounded great.
"You're not a freak, Kevin..." she was trying not to laugh.
"And I'm not a prude." she added in a suggestive tone, as she parted her lips and tilted her chin up to examine his face. She deliberately avoided answering where she'd been staying, what with it being a new place every night. That would've sounded marvelous.

Kevin swallowed nervously, deliberately averting his eyes and avoiding eye contact with her. He dipped his head, and shook it, the thick pieces of fluffy hair flowing with him. "Yeah," he murmured, "Yeah, uh...yeah." He didn't really have much to say beyond that, the youth just letting the silence hang on the air as they finally reached the room. The door was even made of a metal, nothing horrifying just painfully different than the rest of the wooden doors in the hallway. His name was in black letters under what would have been a number like the other doors. However what was the need when he had the only metal door in the boy's dorm.
He lifted a key from his pocket and opened the door. "Welcome to the room of metal."
When Jakkie walked through the door she'd be in a dark sight. The room did indeed have a prison look to it but Kevin had tried to make it look as night as possible. He had a few horror movie posters on the walls, posters of classics such as "The Man Who Laughs" with more recent horror like "Saw." A half finished piece of metallic artwork was on his desk; a tower made of junk metal next to mechanical pencils and stacks of white paper. A bathroom door was ajar in the corner of the room. He flicked on the lights.
"It's not much," he murmured, "But it's enough."

She raised an eyebrow at him, as he announced his room. She entered, looking around warily in the darkness, until he turned the lights on and she got a clearer view. It was in fact very much a metal room. She wasn't entirely sure what to make of it, but a part of her found herself feeling an appreciation. He was right in his choice of words. It wasn't much, but Jakkie never had tastes for the finer things.
"F'I take a shower, you're not gonna split before I'm done.. are you?" she asked in a casual tone, turning her head just slightly to give him a sideways glance as she dropped her bag on the bed. It was a fairly simple question, but there was an unnerving sound to it, like she was suggesting something.
She pressed her lips together, allowing another very small tug of a smile. It displayed an ounce of innocence, but not enough to have made it comfortable. In truth, she really didn't want to be dropped off and left alone in the school- even if it was in Kevin's secluded room.

Kevin smiled softly, dropping his own bag on the floor by the door before sitting in the chair that came with the desk. Luckily it had a few synthetic cushions on it so it wasn't too uncomfortable. He nodded. "I'll still be here," he said, trying to sound not so creepy, "I decided to skip algebra way before you showed up." He was trying to be funny but something about this girl being in his room and naked- albeit behind a metallic door in the bathroom- was unnerving him. He hadn't even had his first kiss - and never would if he didn't get his powers under control - so the idea of her showering his his room was making his shake a bit.
"Just take your time," he said, waving his hand towards the door, "There's soap in there, obviously, and some towels under the sink. They're clean, I promise."

She tried to fight back another grin, and only successfully smothered it by pressing her lips together, which in the end didn't look as passive and smooth as she'd have liked. As a result she ducked her head and muffled a laugh, before stepping off into the bathroom. The soap and towels were there as he'd promised.
Jakkie had taken a moment to press the soft towels against her cheek for a calming effect. It was a settling feeling, and then stripped and jumped in the shower. The hot water made her shudder at first, but she adapted.
The door had been deliberately left open, mostly closed but opened just enough. She wanted to talk.
"When did you come to the school, Kevin?" she called from the shower, squeezing soap bubbles between her fingers. It wasn't a casual tone she picked up, maybe because she was keeping in mind that he'd told her he'd killed his dad. She wouldn't directly mention it, but the question had more questions riddled in it.
