Alec smirked as Kevin started towards Jakkie, satisfaction coursing through him as he ran off the high of power for a moment.
But then came the eventual hangover.
Despite his carefully constructed reputation, Alec wasn't a monster. He didn't tolerate being talked down to, and he didn't entirely regret making Jakkie suffer for what she'd done... but watching Kevin coming at the snarling animal... was this what he actually wanted?
Something felt... off.
And more importantly, once Kevin was Jakkie chow, who was going to stop her? Alec was certain he could talk her down if he could get a hold of her... but to do that he'd need a wing-man. Alec edged forward, touching Kevin's back. "Hey, let's not be hasty now, hmm? Maybe take a step back and tell me what it is you do exactly?"

Kevin's eyes ripped open as Alec touched him. He looked at his hand and quickly threw the uncovered skin to his chest, eyes widened, tears standing at his eyes. He shot a look towards Alec, sneering. "Seriously man?"
He breathed, taking a step beside Alec still cradling his arm. "If I touch you," he said, "You wither. Simple as that. You just...die." He shook his head and returned his eyes to Jakkie. His voice was strained.
"Can't you make her stop?" He said, "Like can't you just make her calm down?"

With the threat of someone looming towards her gone, Jakkie's creature seemed to be trying to cope with the amount of pure energy throbbing inside of her. For the moment, she was trapped by all emotions, whereas normally, she'd unleash and kill almost anything on sight instantly until the anger subsided.
But with the anger and hatred of two people? It was a lot to handle, what she had absorbed, and her beast was clinging onto it viciously. She hunched over, clawed hands clutching at her lowered head of white hair as she consistently shuddered, hissing and growling to herself.
And then a loud noise escaped her throat, like a strained cry, repeated several times. With every terrible noise, her limbs trembled violently, a shiver down her spine as she pulled at her own hair.

"Let me guess, your opposed to wasting her?" Alec grumbled, eyeing Jakkie as she started making loud shouts, hunching up. This was powers as he'd never seen them - the Jekyll Hyde effect of not being able to control that darker half.
He was beginning to come to grips with the fact that he had more of that than he had realized.
Insuring he had a hand on Kevin still so he wasn't left to fend for himself, Alec advised, "Okay. You... distract her and avoid getting eaten and I'll... try and get her to calm her tits."
Alec began shifting back and to the side, trying to circle around Jakkie. When he was nearly behind her, he'd begin talking, sending out as calm of a demeanor as he could. While he spoke, he mentally noted to practice his abilities without touching - this getting close to the jaws of death was not something he'd like to repeat. "Hey, easy their... Jaws. You don't want to attack anything - you cant attack anything. All this screaming, all this... anger, it's exhausting isn't it? You just need to rest. You want to rest - you cant help but sleep."

"Yeah sure, why not? And you can go to jail FOR me, ass hole."
Kevin manged to slip his glove into place as he backed up slightly as Jakkie snarled and frothed at the mouth. He turned, dipping his head towards Alec. This idiot would make a wonderful therapist if he could stop being such a jerk. Then again, Kevin thought, he'd probably end up sleeping with all of his patients.
He shifted on his feet. She was full of rage, anger, frustration. She DID need to calm down. Relax. But Kevin had never been too good at that himself. He stared before turning his head back. Towards the back. Towards the hedge maze.
It was worth a shot.
"Let's see if we can get her to follow us to the hedge maze," he said, "Unless you want to end up shredded. Take your pick."

Her head lifted when movement was detected from the two boys, her jaw shuddering as a growl escaped passed her sharp teeth. Red eyes wide and feral, as they dispersed, she seemed to be having trouble deciding which to focus her attentions on, so for a moment her head was snapping back and forth. Until one spoke.
She stared up at him, green saliva flowing, and then shrieked when he'd finished. His words had reached her, but it was too familiar of a feeling. She lunged, sharp and surprisingly quick for how she'd been crouched. She took him to the ground, standing on his chest, and still hunched over. Her back turned to Kevin, and attentions entirely zeroed in on the one who'd tried to soothe her with his words she couldn't currently understand.
She unleashed a screeching snarl, teeth not far from Alec's face, arms outstretched behind her in utter rage. With any other patient, Alec might be a good therapist. But they weren't dealing with a person, while she was in this form. Her tongue extended out of her mouth, convulsing over him.

"Maze, good." Alec agreed. Preferable to being made into fifty shades of Alec innards.
But then he was falling, the ground slamming him as Jakkie landed on his chest. Pain shot up his right arm as he landed awkwardly, and he grunted and screwed up his face, unable to lift it with the girl crouched in him. She was crushing the air from his chest, and he tongue was casting off pearls of green spit as it wiggled. His skin tingled wherever the droplets landed.
Not good.
He touched her side, and giving everything he had he focused on her alone. He pushed away everything else - his fear, his resentment, the sounds of the world, the frigid cold of the ground, the fizzling sensation of her toxin. All the world focused into a single point - and for him it was the image of Jakkie not when he was drunk and drugged but rather in the park. When she was acting like herself - human and flawed, but in control.
When he spoke, his voice sounded as though multiple people were speaking. "You can't hurt me. You don't want to hurt me. That humanity inside you, it's going to win. You can't hurt me or Kevin, Jakkie."

She was so angry... wanted to hurt him so bad. To kill him, but it was like her anger was fighting with herself, involuntarily. She couldn't hurt him, she literally couldn't even lay a claw on him. So she shrieked, spitting angrily at his touch but unable to bring him any harm, so vulnerable. The touch was familiar, and it unsettled her subconscious on bizarre levels.
It had successfully transferred over as a bad thing, this other force of control, but she was entirely bent to listen to it right now. She hissed, eyes narrowing at who she'd obviously pegged as the culprit, Alec, still beneath her weight.
He was speaking, and she was still snarling viciously, but towards his very last words, her snarling and spitting subsided, ears twitching at the names. Still hostile, but she breathed outward though her teeth, in repetitive outbursts of air. She'd been soothed partly, but the way her throat shuddered in a hiss at Alec suggested that it hadn't been enough to bring her out of this form.

"Shit."
Kevin's mind blurred with a dizzy amount of thoughts.
You useless fuck. This is why you'll never be an X-Man. Your powers aren't only deadly they do NOTHING. You're too skinny to bring her down. You're just dead weight you emo piece of garbage. You should have killed yourself when you discovered what you were and what you could do.
His eyes shut tightly, tears starting to burn his eyes. His hands were gripped in fists. He opened his emerald orbs and blinked towards Jakkie. She'd indeed started to calm down. Kevin shifted his feet in the grass and decided to try an idea. He'd probably get injured in the process but he didn't care. That girl and that prick needed his help.
He took a distance away and without warning started into a dive trying to take Jakkie around the middle. perhaps he could knock her off or grab her. Either way he hoped she didn't bite him. A dog had done that once while he was in the junkyard. The result had been one set of scars on his forearm.
And one dead dog.

When Alec had forced his Dad's business partners to hand over their share of the company, it had felt like Alec was trying to contain a volcano in his chest. Their emotions had strained so wildly, Alec had felt them burning up his insides as he stole and contained them, stripping them away until he could force the grown men to submit.
It was the worst pain Alec had ever come up against.
Linking with Jakkie was worse.
The human mind had a way of classifying things. Humanity craves to force even the most immaterial of things into order. This is what anger is. This is what love feels like. This emotion is stronger than sadness, this is sorrow. But Jakkie, like this... She was still human enough for him to control her - the part of her that was repelled by what she was doing, that was what he could manipulate. But the rest of it was animalistic instinct, savage malevolence. And all that part of her wanted to do was murder him, to free itself. He could feel it battering at the edges of his control over her, but worse was that leaking into him.
The connection with people went both ways. If tearing everything that matters from someone is a volcanic eruption, this had to be what the Tsar Bomba felt like when it detonated. Sheer destructive evil. If someone didn't get her off of him, her emotions would ruin what was left of him all on their own.

The vicious side of Jakkie seemed to be starting to fight mentally. Or at least began loosing it even more in frustration, and trying to find a way to take it out on Alec as her throat shuddered in clicking sneers. And then there was a force from her side, grabbing her torso and plowing her off of Alec.
She landed roughly on an angle, shoulder and lower side scraping into the stones and ripping her skin. There was a small amount of blood that began to show, but otherwise she hadn't reacted in the slightest, almost as if she hadn't noticed the pain.
Instead, she shrieked at the one who tackled her, fully intending to claw bite or kick, but still being vulnerable in this rapidly moving state of mind, she was susceptible to Alec's control still. His order, or influence that she couldn't harm them. She couldn't attack them still, and this seemed to confuse, and piss her off.
Angry red eyes turned harshly on the one who'd pinned her, locking gaze onto his face as her mouth pulled back to reveal her clenched teeth and snarl. Her very frame was shuddering with the power she had stored in her frame, rather than the pain she should have felt at her bleeding backside. Jakkie couldn't feel it right now, and so she only helplessly glared up at Kevin, who'd knocked her from her perch, an irritable clicking noise in her throat.
Had she been free of these peculiar restraints, she'd have killed them both and run off to demolish half the students in the school by now. But for the moment, she was immobilized.

"C'mon Jakkie," Kevin grunted, "You don't need to do this! You don't wanna do this!" Kevin stared at her wound, green orbs wide. What was he supposed to do? He wasn't psychic and any use of his powers would be murder. His eyes shut tightly, peering down at her and the awkward position he was in. His own throat made a struggling noise as he forced her down. This is really fucking awkward... The thoughts shot through his mind as he tried to figure out what to do. The snarling, the spitting wasn't going to stop. He reached out his free hand and placed his hand under her snowy hair.
"It's okay," he whispered, "It's okay, just breath. Just breath, you'll be okay. Please...please don't bite me...please..." He breathed slowly, trying to shake his shuddering breath. He moved his gloved hand down her face, his glove blocking him from her scaly skin.

Alec groaned, turning onto his side to watch Kevin trying to talk Jakkie down. What did the idiot think he was doing? He wasn't freaking Cesar Millan, and Jakkie wasn't s misbehaving chiwawa. For a moment Alec lay there stewing, glowering at the pair. Godzilla and Boy Virgin.
And yet, at least they'd found someone.
These two were the very epitome of creepy forever aloners, but here... here they were liked. They had each other - even now when he was completely useless Kevin was risking himself trying to save She of the Too Much Tongue. He was in danger, but he refused to protect himself. It was both sickening and mildly enviable.
And it pissed Alec off.
He stood, feeling the rage echo through him - the lingering of Jakkie. He swayed a little, eyeing going to the door. He ought to leave the brainless oaf to his fate - Jakkie couldn't hurt him now anyway. Let her stay stuck like that forever for what she did to him - he owed he absolutely nothing.
Alec turned his back on the pair, took a step toward his escape... and thought of Nicki. Where she came from, he couldn't begin to comprehend. But he could see her, her face when she talked about how useful his powers were. How he could do things. He'd given her ways to save people, and she'd been thrilled. How would she react, if she could see him now?
How would she react if she saw him after he did what he knew he had to?
Alec closed his eyes, uttering a low groan. Then, regretting ever talking to a nice human being, he turned and went back for Kevin.
"Very touching," He called. "but I really shudder to picture the love child of you two kiddies, so for the sake of everyone's sanity..."
Alec gripped Jakkie's face from behind, fingers digging in tight ready for her to thrash. "Let it go - let the anger go."
Newton knew what he was talking about - ever reaction has a equal and opposite reaction. Emotions were no different. Alec was forcing the anger out of Jakkie, and that all had to go somewhere. Pushing it back into her subconscious wouldn't do, leaving her as a time-bomb to go munch on a school bus full of kids or an old folks home the minute someone rubs her the wrong way. So it had to come back at him.
He jerked his hands away as he felt it slither through him like a dark heat. Alec shut his eyes as he backed off, grimacing and gripping his chest as it all that fury threatened to bust it's way out. He moved back till he hand into something cold and stone, then slid to the ground. He didn't open his eyes, or let go of his chest. He didn't dare move. Everything had to concentrate on keeping this locked up. He had to deal with the anger, because obviously Jakkie couldn't. And who could say how much he'd taken?

She shuddered when his hand went to her face, breath coming out in harsh bouts. Her eyes were still large, red and feral, but her heart pace slowed some. An animal, trying to resist the soft way his glove ran down her face. She was still angry, but the growling had stopped, subsiding to a thrum in her throat, uncertain and leery as she eyed Kevin suspiciously.
And then her face was grasped from behind. She shrieked, convulsing from the touch, any calmness completely unhinged by the sudden movement. And then she felt something unlike anything she had before. The anger was being torn away through the connection, her beast side desperately trying to latch onto it, but anger wasn't something you could hold. The most her creature could do in objection, was try to push herself up, but being restrained by Kevin, she'd only gained enough ground to lean on her elbow.
The blue ebbed from her skin, crawling away until it was gone, and eyes dilated, red depleting until a normal size was once again retained. her breath that had been rapid had slowed considerably, almost to a concerning level, from the vast difference in paces. She was perhaps a little paler in the face from before, eyes darker, more tired and almost ill looking. But... Human.
Upon the last details returning to normal, she cried out in shock, hand immediately jumping to her side, and shoulder blade that was currently scraped raw from her little skid. Now her breath was labored, as she clutched her chest looking panicked. She hardly even noticed Kevin who currently had her pinned down awkwardly, as she tried to adapt to her suddenly slow system.
It was like she was having an asthma attack, her limbs shaking although she'd been malnourished for days. Her other form had a system that accelerated much faster than any human, and burned a lot more energy, leaving Jakkie as something of a mess when she came back to.
"Can't breath..." she wheezed, bringing back a bloody hand from her side. "What... Happened..." she was regaining her breath, grabbing the arm of Kevin's sleeve desperately. She was beginning to take in her surroundings better now, her chest still heaving with an effort to take in enough air. It was coming back in flashes, red visions. It was like being in the back seat while everything had happened before her.
"I'm going to kill him..." she growled, and shifted to try and find where Alec had gone off to. But she'd winced, and released a small cry when her side stung. Not that it mattered. She hardly had enough strength to even lift her arms. They were shaking pretty bad, and she was alarmingly cold.

"Mother fucker."
Kevin whistled, raising off of Jakkie, the words a combination of surprise, relief and frustration at Alec's insensitive stupidity. His emerald orbs narrowed towards Alec, placing himself on the ground next to Jakkie who was recovering from her horrifying ordeal. Kevin lifted a gloved hand to place it on the wound, trying to maybe stop the blood but he paused, eyes shut tight for a moment before sitting up and clearing his throat.
"Jakkie," he whispered, "Jakkie, you okay? Do you know who I am?" Instinctively the male's hand did make contact with Jakkie's hand as he shook his head.
"Don't get mad at him," he growled, "Let's make that my job until you calm down, okay?"
