((11th, late, maybe early morning. Who even knows. Closed for the first bit with Rahne, may open later))
It had been a ridiculously intense night, not at all what he had had in mind. He'd gone, tried to talk to a pretty girl, and instead got the crap mentally beaten out of him. Raven wasn't at all the girl she used to be. Alex wasn't the same either honestly. But he'd take down in the dumps over psychotic.
She smell of alcohol was still on his breath, he could taste it on his tongue, but he was too tired to do anything about it. He groaned, pushing through a door into a comfortable room in the institute, rubbing the back of his neck.
Alex hadn't taken a look to see who might have been in the room at the time. His mind was too caught up in everything Mystique had said. It wasn't about the good vs bad, and pretty folks or whatever. Mostly, his thoughts were revolving around Darwin.
It had been his fault...
He stood, completely tense for a moment. He had spent all night with his pent up anger, holding in a rage and he just couldn't take it anymore. And now he lost it.
Alex released an enraged roar, turning and sweeping off the vases, clocks and candlesticks, whatever happened to be on the cedar chest to his right. Then, to fully rip apart the decor, he threw the chest on its' side sending a deafening rumble across the floor.
It was silent, but his ears were ringing as he stood there, entirely still, save for his hands shaking in his anger and upset.

Luckily for Rahne she'd picked the right moment to exit the room to finally go back to her own dorm. She lifted her head, holding the warm glass of hot chocolate between her pale hands as she slipped forward in her nightgown. It was a pale yellow color and swept the floor as she walked. She wore a silk robe of the same color over top of the sleeveless nightgown. It was partly to keep warm and partly to keep herself modest. She completed the outfit with a pair of black slippers. The whole wardrobe had been bought by herself after Xavier tossed some money at the poor girl to actually buy some clothes.
But as she slipped towards the wooden staircase she heard a noise. A large boom which made a ripple form in her chocolate drink. "What the?"
She turned, her fuzzy red hair whipping with her as she instinctively shifted forms to a werewolf girl. Enough so her nightgown wouldn't rip, so a light cover of fur, fangs and claws. She opened the door where she'd walked through and spotted someone. She immediately shifted back.
"Alex?" She walked in and sniffed the air. He smelled like liquor. "Alex...are...are yes alrigh'? Where were ye? Curfew was...was..." She stared up at his, green orbs shining.

He had to glance over his shoulder to see her. Rahne. He looked tired, but there was an obvious glimmer of anger in his eyes. And now? Panic. Utter fear. Why was she up? Mind you, the center of the school hadn't been the brightest place to go when he was feeling like this, but he had expected no one to be awake. He clenched his fist, the other hand raising and rubbing the spot between his eyebrows.
"You should go.." he warned, his voice firm, angry, but shaky. "You should really go." this time he sounded like he was pleading with her.
He didn't want to be responsible for a dead girl, especially not this girl. He was so wound up, upset, and.. well... the drink didn't help with trying to keep his head straight. Now his hand was clenching his hair, pulling it tensely.

Rahne's green eyes were wide with surprise and confusion. "Alex," she said, voice shaking, "What's wrong with ye?" She braced herself back on her feet, holding out a hand towards the youth. He was trembling, shaking, looking quite in trouble. Rahne, attraction aside, didn't much like to see anyone in trouble. However, in fear, her hands shifted back and forth from claws to nails. She grabbed her hand to her chest and blushed. It wasn't enough she was embarrassed by her powers.
But her chest caved when she saw the trouble he was in, pulling his short hair and looking distraught to put it mildly. She still smelled the stench of liquor on his tongue. She left that comment aside for when he had calmed himself down.
"Alex, ye need help," she whispered. She held her hands up towards his own, placing her slender palm on his, hoping a gentle touch would calm him down. "Yuir shakin'. Ye need tae breath."

"I don't need help." he rasped, sharply tugging his hand away from her touch. But he did. He moved to the couch, stumbling into the side, before dropping into the seat. Legs splayed, as he leaned forward, elbows on knees and hands clutching his head.
"I'm fine." he insisted, and cleared his throat. But he was breathing heavily, trying to control himself. He could feel it gathering, where other people could feel anger. But he was gathering energy. Energy that was going to pent up until it finally released in the form of red discs that were going to cut through anything around him.
He was trying to make distance. He wouldn't forgive himself if he hurt Rahne. Sweet girl... Such a sweet girl. The image of her being destructed by one of his red discs.... He had to try and not think about killing more people.

"Oh aye?" Stubborn little wolf-child approached Alex carefully, placing her knees on the carpeted floor and her cup of hot chocolate on the glass table nearest the boy. Her inquisitive green orbs flashed up, unblinking and sympathetic at the youth before her lips parted slightly and she reached up towards his hands which were clutching his head.
"Alex, ye need help," she whispered, touching her soft palm to his hand. She paused a moment suffocating the back-flips her stomach was doing by thinking of the sinful areas of hell she'd be burning in if she kept it up. She placed her other hand on his other hand.
"Yuir goin' ta' be okay," she whispered, "I dinnae know what's got ye all riled up but...but...I would like tae help ye calm yuirself."

"I don't need help!" he growled harshly between gritted teeth. He stared at the carpet between his shoes, it was all he could do to try and subdue the gathering energy particles he could feel stringing towards them.
"I need to be..." he started mumbling, breathing heavily. "Calm..." he repeated the word short moments after she had, echoing it again, "Calm...." like a chant. Perhaps focusing on the word enough could keep from an explosion. There was no way to convince her to go. He was behaving like a psycho. She wouldn't listen to him, although he'd try.
"You need to go." his voice was strained, and almost pleading.

"Relax! Relax!" Rahne kept her hands gently placed on Alex's hands. "Alex, tis alrigh'! I promise...I promise...tis alright." She didn't know what had gotten him so riled up. What she did know is that she could and would try and help him. Though how she had no idea.
Her green orbs blinked a few times before she looked up at his eyes.
She suddenly got an idea. Breathing in she got up and walked around the corner. With quick precision, she shifted, slipping out of her nightgown and robe into her wolf form. Nosing her clothing behind a table in the hallway, Rahne returned to Alex, sitting down in front of him. Tail flicking behind her, she pushed her nose to his hand, pawing at it with her left paw. She'd heard it was calming to have an animal near you. She hoped it would help.

He exhaled slowly, but the breath was shuddering and nervous. Less to do with Rahne's hands on his, he hardly seemed to notice. The anger was still there, but his fear of what it could do merely fed it, piling it all in as anxious emotions.
He glanced up at her as she stood, and for a moment relief hit him. She was leaving. It was best that way. It hit him in the chest though, when he realized he was alone. Still, relief. And then the return. He squinted into the eyes of the canine who'd sat down in front of him, and sniffed. His confusion seemed the outweigh the range of other feelings he had, and then she pawed at his hand.
"Wolfsbane..." he mumbled. He breathed in. Again, slowly. But it seemed to calm him some. Alex sniffed, and lifted a hand to rub his forehead. It felt like it was burning, but it had more to do with how angry he was.
"Thank you." he said softly, but in an off tone. It was the best he could offer, accompanied by a nod. He was still riled up, but he could feel it beginning to subside.

"Woof."
Rahne placed her head on Alex's thigh, stomach churning in a very human way. Her tail swished behind her, as she peered up at him with her emerald eyes. She wouldn't leave until he was calm, calm enough to sleep anyway. She shifted her large paws to make herself more comfortable as she kept staring. She didn't understand, didn't know why he was so bloody angry. But she knew it felt sick waking up the next morning pissed to high heaven. Not that she'd ever gone to bed angry but she felt it was the same feeling as going to bed very sad.

Alex leaned his head down, pressing his nose and lips into the top of Rahne's furry head, and exhaled from his nose. It rustled the fur a bit, but otherwise it was harmless. One hand was placed on her back, the place just between her shoulder blades, a soft touch, as the angry trembles were ceasing.
Was he supposed to talk to her? Seemed a little silly... So instead he patted the seat next to him on the couch, much like one would chide their dog to come to them. But immediately after, he seemed to regret that action.
"That was rude..." he reconsidered out loud, apologetically, then tried for a strained smile. Still too early for pleasantries it seemed. But he imagined he'd scared her, coming back just now how he did. Looking over at the mess he'd made, he was surprised she was the only one.
Regardless, if she did take up the seat on the end of the couch, Alex would comfortably shift and lean back into her, like a well shaped pillow, and breath as steadily as he could at the moment.
