Richard was calm once the doctor seemed fine but with Dr. Crane, he still kept his guard up. Maybe it was his powers but it didn't seem right. Nonetheless his smile seemed more natural now. He then turned to other seats and responded "Since some of my employees aren't really here, getting other tables ready and such. Might I suggest a seat for you or do you wish to make your own choice sir?" Normally he'd just take him to a seat and be charming but Crane gave him the dominant vibe and Richard just felt the need to let crane decide and not him. Fortunately Thor and emily were covered by people and a couple of employees were getting stuff still ready, so Richard wasn't lying when he said the place was looking busy.

Professionals and Jersey Shore idiots. The latter didn't sound especially great to be connected to. Thor would briefly hear about some television show about Jersey, but didn't quite know what it was. Word around town told him that it was awful and best that he not look into it. When he heard her first comment, he could just feel confidence in her voice. It was a bold move to say something like you were always right. Being bold was a quality Thor liked about people. A warrior was a bold individual.
He briefly noticed her gaze was turned to a newcomer. He looked back at him as well. Thor wasn't one to feel fear easily. He was still as boisterous as ever and left the man to his own business. Besides, he was already talking to the manager getting set up and whatnot. He did give off a bit of an odd vibe, but he also looked like he wasn't from around New York. Maybe he was one of those Gothamites visiting New York. Thor wasn't worried about it. He didn't appear to be threatening.
The Asgardian's bright eyes flickered back over to Emily, who had introduced herself. The blonde took her hand with a smile. He decided that he could trust her and be truthful with her. "Emily Clearwater, I am Thor," he responded. His usually projecting voice was hushed a bit to a normal volume. It was best not to bring too much attention to himself.

Crane's charming smile never faded. His seductive nature was the way he got patients, the police, even Bruce Wayne himself to trust him. Though the charm didn't work so well on women who were mostly just creeped out by his deadly stare, men seemed to trust him. Which was just fine by him. Though that girl speaking to the hulking blonde gentleman intrigued him slightly. She should have jumped, squirmed, something. He brushed it off however as he turned his attention back to the host.
"Lead the way," he said softly.

Emily was 't surprised by the strength of Thor's grasp when he took her hand, she'd already pointed that out for all to see. What she was surprised at, however, was his name and Emily was very rarely surprised.
She recovered quickly and flashed the Asgardian a cheeky grin before replying "Call it a hunch, but I'd wager you're a stranger here to then with a name like that. Oh great and mighty god of thunder."
Either that, or Thor's parents must be real mythology nuts or something. She knew that she was right in him being alien around here. His antiquated way of speaking, his large size and obvious muscular build coupled with the off-the-wall name only further cemented this idea into her brain. She mentally patted herself on the back for that.
"So then...where are you from, Thor?"

"You're not wrong on that, Miss Clearwater," Thor responded once the young woman had said he was a stranger around here. He was like an alien to the mortals of Earth. You couldn't get much stranger than that. He let out a lighthearted chuckle when she called him the god of thunder. The Asgardian looked at Emily, a childish grin on his face as he came up with a response for her question. Where was he from? That was a good question. One with an answer he was actually willing to share. Emily seemed trustworthy to tell the truth, and not some made-up answer out of his head.
"I come from Asgard, a distant realm from here, if you choose to believe me. If you don't mind me asking, where is your homeland?" Was Thor a bit awkward? Probably, but he had an excuse. He wasn't exactly very fluent in modern english. Asgard used a very ancient dialect compared to the people of Earth. It was surely a horrible experience to have a conversation with him, but he was trying his best to be understood amongst the mortals.

"Lead the way," he said softly. Richard could only nod and walk to the tables, expecting or assuming Dr. Crane would follow. He finally found a spot where Crane would most likely enjoy himself, hopefully that is. It wasn't by the corner but it was near it. The table had a nice red tablecloth and it had a menu already set up, it seems the new rookies were doing well after all. Richard got his game on and responded slightly more confident "Here's your seat sir. I'm sure it'll do quite nicely"

"Asgard..." Emily rolled the name off her tongue, her expression thoughtful. Her mind was searching for that realm in her mind, she was sure that she'd probably dropped off there at least once but she'd lost count of the various places and time periods she'd visited over the years. Perhaps she might have seen Asgard once but if she had then she didn't remember but her curiousity was piqued nonetheless.
And then Thor brought up her own home and Emily's entire body tensed.
Unbidden, memories of fire, death and destruction raged in her mind's eye in crystal clarity as if it was being played on a TV screen in front of her. She tried to surpress the lingering horror of what she'd seen but she could never escape from her past. Gallifrey was gone, destroyed, wiped from the universe along with the rest of her kind. She wished that weren't true but she would by lying to herself.
"I don't do backstory." she bit out perhaps a tad harsher than she intended "I don't have a home. It was destroyed a long time ago."

Thor could tell it probably was not the best of ideas to ask about where Emily was from when she got rather tense at the question. When she responded that her home was destroyed, a frown formed across the blonde male's face. Ouch. He hadn't been expecting that as an answer. Thor didn't know what he'd do if his homeland was destroyed. He would probably be rather torn up inside. It wasn't a thought he wanted to dwell on much, so he would only make one remark and move on. "I apologize for your loss," he said, deciding it be best to change the topic.
"How much time have you spent around New York? I haven't spent much of my time around here, but I've gotten to know it fairly well." Hopefullly, the topic of New York would get her mind off of her own home. Thor was rather homesick himself at times, but at least he had the option of returning to his original home. Sure, New York could be considered his new home, but Asgard was where he was born and raised. You couldn't replace that.

Richard patiently waited for Crane's answer and the longer it took, the more anxious his mind felt. The aura around crane was VERY strong, the powers he had just gave him a instant red flag when it came to looking at crane. Whether Crane was fully inteligent, insane, or just simply looked the part of suspicion, Richard just kept on his feet despite feeling calm. You never know what you could run into. It was mostly odd for him to feel anxious but whatever, everybody felt this way one way or the other.

"It'll do fine."
After that uncomfortable silence, the male flicked his green eyes up at Richard with a sick yet sophisticated grin on his face. He sat down, laying his briefcase on the table next to him. He opened the thing and unearthed a book; some of HP Lovecraft's famous stories. The book was leather bound and quite old looking. No one in the room would have guessed he'd stolen it in a heist at a professor's house. A professor he'd unfortunately killed when he'd walked in on him stealing chemicals. So sad, the man was attacked by a pack of wild dogs. He thought he saw. Cynophobia. Fear of dogs.
He adjusted his frames and plainly gave the man a look. "Are you the waiter or must I wait for someone to approach?"

"Oh I'm the manager" Richard responded calmly. He then turned to see people really busy but he didn't want to make it look like Richard was uncomfortable, Richard actually wasn't at this point but still. Richard then assured "I'll be sure to get someone for you. Thank you for coming here for your lunch, you won't regret it" With that little charming note, Richard calmly walked to find any employee he had.
Suddenly one came and Richard tugged on his arm. Richard whispered to the employee "Tom. Give Dr. Crane anything he wants alright? No screw ups" Tom, the employee, nodded and went right to Dr. Crane's table, kindly asking what he wanted as well as introduce himself. Richard scratched his head Why? Why am I freaked out all over again? It's not like he's mad NOW
