(January 10th. Open to Havok & Wolfsbane. Title comic reference lolz)
It was a Cold Stone Creamery where Rahne found herself. Strange? Yes. Why was Rahne there on a freezing day?
Because she'd taken a liking to ice cream. It was something she'd NEVER had before she came to the states. Now she loved it! Chocolate! Strawberry! Her favorite though was something called 'Cake Batter.' She'd put oreo pieces in it and get a big cup to indulge in the sweetness. Besides the shop was warm so the chill of the ice cream was alright.
She paid with her pocket change and smiled as she sat in the corner. She pushed her face towards the window. It had started snowing as well. She was content. A happy little wolf pup who was eating ice cream in a corner in Salem Center.

"You soft on 'em? You soft on some muties?" one kid snickered, as Alex regretfully took a step back to retreat. Not because he couldn't handle them. There were two guys, both giving him a hard time after he'd interjected his annoyance while they loudly talked about what freaks mutant were. It was right across the street from where Rahne was currently sitting, enjoying her cold combination of ice-cream.
"Who knows. Maybe you're one of 'em. Never can tell. You sure do fit the freak card." the other sneered, receiving a winning grin from his buddy.
They both earned a sufficiently annoyed look as he shook his head, and turned away. They weren't worth it. Weren't worth him getting worked up about and risking an accident. With his back to them, he began to leave, but both were trailing behind him now.
"That it then? You're one of those jokers?" the first said in a low voice. Alex exhaled sharply in his contempt, rolling his eyes, and the man gave a hoot of victory.
"Then it's true!" the other jeered, "Betcha got stuck with a real lame disability then? What is it?" he demanded. Alex ignored him, but demanding attention the guy aggressively grabbed his shoulder when they're reached the curb on the opposite side of the street, "C'mon then!"
He was fast, angry, but entirely in control of himself. He whipped around, throwing his clenched fist at the guy's face. It caught him in the jaw, and the guy dropped. Alex shifted his jaw, turning hard eyes to the second guy who was suddenly very anxious. With a short stare and a curt nod, he turned, pulling his hood up as he made a quick pass by the ice-cream shop window.
((Sorry!! Long! =m=))

Rahne caught herself as she placed a rather canine-like lick on her ice cream. She placed her hand over her mouth, blushing a little even though no one had really seen it. Her green orbs raised towards the window as she twirled her plastic spoon in the white and black mixture.
There she saw a blonde walk by the window. She blinked towards the male, lips parted slightly. Rahne was still growing used to seeing men. But the feelings she felt when she saw an attractive boy...that was sin. The ultimate kind of sin. Sin of the flesh.
Rahne brushed her bangs back and returned to her ice cream. That was an indulgence she was fine with absorbing herself in.

Ice-cream? No. Not happening. It was too cold out, and he was too riled up after being harassed by those guys. He was sure he had heard one of them calling out profanities at him and mutant-kind from behind him. He didn't pay them any mind, and continued up the street, rubbing his knuckles anxiously in his adrenaline rush.
Behind him, the pair of guys had stumbled into the ice-cream shop, one supporting the other whom Alex had so recently decked.
"Please! Can we use a phone!" he asked. "My buddy- I think he needs stitches!" he whined to the store owner.
"Damned.. mutant..." the 'wounded' mumbled groggily. It wasn't so severe of a hit, but there was a trail of blood down the side of his face. Perhaps from where his head hit the pavement when he dropped.

"Damned.. mutant..."
Rahne stopped eating and lifted her head, eyes widening to their full size. Damn mutants...fire and brimstone...torches and pitchforks. As the person behind the counter rushed over to the boys, Rahne gathered her coat up and started to grab a cover for her ice cream. She had payed for it, she wasn't going to waste it. She tossed her hair back before sliding towards the door, getting a few strange looks.
She closed her eyes. The words stung her deeply. She was walking forward, clutching her ice cream tightly, not paying attention to where she was going. She would soon hit a plush coat in front of her. Luckily the tight lid kept any of the ice cream from leaking out but Rahne still checked the coat in front of her anyway, averting her eyes from the person's gaze.
"I'm so sorry," she quipped, "I dinnae mean...I got distracted by the...ah..."

A small bump on his back, but enough to set him on edge again. He turned quickly, and being firing off instantly.
"Alright- Listen up, I dealt with your friend already if you don't take a step back I'll give you a real reason to hate mut-" his words had mingled with her apologetic ones, and he found himself staring down at a young girl, not one of the guys he'd had a run in with. "-ants..." he finished in a mumble.
Well then. That was just all out awkward wasn't it? Way to go Alex. He reached his arm back, rubbing his neck as his eyes seemed to find interest in everything but the girl in front of him.
"Sorry." he finally said deeply, exhaling and letting his shoulders fall.

"I'm so sorry! I-I dinno' mean tae startle ye! I..." Rahne paused, lifting up and blinking, blushing placing her slender hand on her cheek. Her green orbs flashed towards the boy as she heard the boy's statement. Mutants. Why was everyone's genetics on the line?
Rahne ran her hands through her hair and bit her lip. "Did ye-" Rahne rubbed her shoulder. "I mean-I suppose ye-yuir a-are ye a-mutant?"
She rubbed her shoulders and dipped her head. Was she supposed to walk away? Was she supposed to speak to him?

He looked down at her with that skeptical look he wore often. It hardened some when she mentioned his being a mutant. She didn't seem the type to follow and harass someone, but Alex found difficulties with finding faith in people.
"I never said that." he replied coolly, in a smooth deep voice as he adjusted his stance. He'd leaned back, shifting his jaw as he shoved his hands in his pockets. His eyes turned on her, hollow almost, but silently demanding something from her.
Maybe he just wanted her to leave.

Rahne bit her lip and rubbed her arm as she held the ice cream in the other wand. "I'm sorry," she whispered, looking towards the ground, cheeks flushed red, "I did nae mean tae...I should probably go." Rahne's face was still bright red. Partly because she found him attractive, partly because she was embarrassed she had nothing to say. She shuffled her feet in the snow a little before pivoting on her heels and backing up. She adjusted her purse on her shoulder before moving along.
"I did no' mean tae bother ye, sir," she said, dipping her head.

He opened his mouth and closed it a few times as she stammered a few sentences at him. They were all generally feeble, and he was slowly starting to feel like more of an asshole as she became more anxious and regretful. The hollowness in his eyes faded to something closer to compassion, and when she uttered her final apology he released a defeated sigh.
"Look, don't.. do that.." he forced the words out, something, anything to get her to stop. He lifted both arms, folding them behind his head, and exhaling so his lips flared a moment as the gush of air passed. "Sorry. Bad day... y'know?"
He dropped his arms, bringing his hands together in front of him, clutching the hand he'd punched the guy with earlier.
"You like.. ah.. Ice-cream?" he nodded to the container in her hand, desperately trying out some casual conversation. "It's ahh.. well..." he let his arms swing, eyes scanning the surroundings before turning to try and meet her eyes again, if she'd turned around.
"It's cold." he finished a little flatly, apparently unable to find something kinder or even of use to say about the frozen desert.

"Oh...yes...ah...tis verra cold."
Rahne clutched the ice cream close to herself as she spoke, looking down at the oreo mixture. She batted her green orbs towards the cream-based treat before looking back up at Alex. Her shoulders lifted slightly as she shook a little. If he asked, she'd tell him it was the cold. "I...jus'...I'd ne'er had it before I came tae muh school here. M'father was rather...ah...strict."
Reverend Craig's words were screaming in her ear. Sin. Sin. SIN.[/s] Her feelings, her desires, everything. EVERYTHING was sinful in this situation as she stared up at the blonde.

He sniffed, trying to find the most casual way to stand and talk, but he was moving a lot. Whether it was because he was uncomfortable standing in the street so close to where he'd just been apart of a little ruckus, or whether he was simply cold, was undetermined. He nodded somberly to his words. Perhaps he'd ask later, he had a more pressing thought in his mind.
"You a mutant?" he ask lowly, glancing around, before returning his gaze to her, tilting his chin down to asses her.
He figured she already knew he was, though he wasn't about to tell her what he could do. Unless she asked, and even then the odds were iffy.

"Ah...ah am..."
She dipped her head towards the male. She was admiting something she'd never admit. Her genetic status. She'd heard the boys in the shop taking about, well muttering about, mutants. Was this boy a mutant like she'd thought? Or was he just a young man who happened to be caught when she walked outside? She chewed nervously on her lip before turning back to him.
"A'fore ye toss out yuir torches n' pitchforks..." she mumbled, "I dinnae want no trouble, alrigh'?"

Alex inspected her closely, his eyes narrowing for a split second in a skeptical manner as he shifted his jaw. She seemed to have been detoured from the idea that he was a mutant himself now? That hadn't been his intention, but he shrugged in his jacket, shifting the way it sat on his shoulders so the collar popped a little closer to his jaw.
"It's not a big deal." he cleared his throat, taking a glance down the street at the ice-cream shop. "D'you mind if we... move away from here?" he asked, taking a hand out of his pocket to rub the back of his head, as he took a couple steps backward, inviting her to walk with him.
"I just caused a bit of a scene back there..." he explained, putting his hand back into his pocket, as he maneuvered his step so he was walking forward.
"Giving some trouble. I'm Alex... and a mutant too." the words tasted weird on his tongue. He wasn't ashamed of what he was, but it never felt normal, applying those words to yourself.

"Ah...sure...t'was jus' goin' back tae school..."
Rahne mumbled bundling her coat up closer to her cheeks hoping the feeling nipping at them wasn't lust but the cold. She brought her free hand to her golden cross, pulling the thing up from her collarbone to her mouth where she proceeded to nervously nibble on it. She looked to the side as she walked back then forward with the boy. He didn't seem unnerved when she mentioned being a mutant. That was good, she guessed.
"Oh...aye?" She said, "Yuir...nice tae meet ye Alex. Mah name's Rahne. Rahne Sinclair. Or...ah...Wolfsbane's th'name they gave me over at school." She shuffled her purse before placing the small container of ice cream into her bag. Hopefully it wouldn't spill.
"Ye must've...ah...did ye...did ye..." She didn't know how to talk exactly about what she'd seem. "Th'boy with th'blood said sumthin' about a mutant. Ye didn't...I mean ye couldn'tv..."
